Why does the iphone need to be on a wifi connection to acess itunes music store?

I understand wifi and everything, but there is one thing I don't get. How come apple made the iphone music store that you have to be on wifi to access it? I know that edge access would be slower, but that can't really be an excuse. Edge and wifi use the same internet, so why can't both access the itunes store?|||Data transfer rates to the device itself. On the edge network, the chance of the data stream being interrupted before it can complete is higher, because of the size of file. well actually it is a question i had in the begining too. See i own a macbook and in order for the itunes store to work it needs an internet connection because it directly links it to the apple store (internet--www.apple.com) but you see only the songs.

In most states, it's only 14 days (I think it's 30 days in California, but check to be sure).|||I would wait the two weeks and see what the iphone 5 is like (or at least wait till October 4th and see what the basics of it's looks and features are) since this way you can get a fair judgement of the two models. Does the iphone internet works exactly like the one on the computer?

I'm planning to buy an iPhone. But before i do that i need to find out if the iphone can view every website just like the one on the computer. Does Safari support all websites including JAVA and flash players. Can i view Youtube and pics and other videos on the Iphone using the interent website? One last thing how long does it take for a page to load?|||iPhone can view most websites. It is probably the best mobile internet device out there simply because you can view the whole webpage and not a "watered down" version. Safari does not support JAVA and flash yet, but it is expected within the next few months. Nothing sure, yet. You cannot view YouTube's website's videos, but you can use the YouTube application on iPhone to view most videos out there on YouTube. Quicktime is basically the only file format that is able to be viewed on the iPhone. Using AT%26amp;T EDGE, loading a page takes a few seconds to minutes to load, depending on the site. Using Wi-Fi is very fast depending on your access point. Although the iPhone lacks flash and JAVA, it is still 100% worth it!|||YouTube is on the iPhone. You can't view like Java and flash things though.. I guess you'd have to download them and I'm not sure if you can. You can see pictures there and any Youtube videos though.


The pages load pretty quick for me, but it depends on your internet connection speed.

Are the IPhone Clones able to run all the applications from the real IPhone?

I am asking this is because I am planning on buying an IPhone mainly because of its applications, like the beatmakers, music makers, anything that is connected with music making applications and some other video stuff. I wont be doing wifi/surfing the internet. Just plain old call and sms plus the applications.

It helps if you type everything out also instead of just abbreviating.|||1. yes the iphone is the same price even if you are on a family plan. The data plan %26amp; texting plan are the same price as if you were on your individual account.


2. songs are usually about $1 from itunes (you can download limewire where you can get songs for free.. but you risk getting a virus and it's illegal). Albums depend on how many songs are in there. They're usually like a dollar less or so than buying all the songs seperate. And games can range anywhere from free to $20. But there are a lot of really fun free games for it.


3. It depends on your router and how strong the signal it gives is. It's just like a laptop.

IF the KS20 was available right now (which it isn't), it would be the better buy. More features for not much more money. Also, the KS20 is currently a GSM phone and not compatible with Verizon's service. You could bring in a KS20 or a KE850 to the US, but neither phone could be activated to Verizon's network. You would need to be on a GSM carrier like AT%26amp;T or T-Mobile for either of those phones to work right now.

Don't listen to Jellybean about the iPhone. Verizon was the first company that Apple wanted to carry the iPhone. They could not reach an agreement, and Apple took the iPhone to AT%26amp;T. I would suggest getting a used one. Macvortex.com has some nice deals.|||It's true: An iphone has been rumored to have a 3G network card in it, compared to the relatively slow Edge network.


The problem is, the rest of what that new iPhone might have is pretty much a mystery. Some claim it will have a GPS included with it.





The problem is, is whether or not you actually want to wait.


If you have the patience to wait for it to be released, which is currently unconfirmed, then go for it. It could be Summer of 08, or it could be 2 years from now.


My suggestion would be to buy the iphone. If you buy it, buy a case for it, and a screen protector, and put them both on as soon as the iphone leaves the package. Why? Because then you are protecting it, and it will stay pretty much mint. Since the iPhone does not depreciate very much, and one that looks brand new is worth even more, you will get most of your money back when you sell it, if you even want to get the second iPhone.





I myself own an iPhone, but even if they release a second Generation iPhone, I would hold on to mine, because there is not much that would convince me to buy another one, just because the internet service is faster, and it has a GPS.





There are only a few faults with the iPhone in my opinion:


1. There is no video camera feature on it.


2. There is no zoom on it.


3. There is no iChat or such on it


4. They aren't allowing 3rd party apps(This is the biggest deal for me. The 3rd party apps are what make the iphone so interesting)

So I have $400 saved up and idk if I should bye an iphone or not. Since the iphone has been out for a year now I bet in a few months they will make a new one. For about 20 bucks a month you get unlimited Internet (DATA) and 200 messages, and you can upgrade that to have more messages I have the one with 1500 messages and unlimited data for 40. I believe for 50.00 you get unlimited text and data

|||who is CC? it is NOT possible to get the iPhone on a prepaid plan. Whoever told you that has either lied to you to get you to purchase the phone ( and get them their small Christmas commission ) or are just misinformed.





The iPhone is great, but as said above it maybe a better idea to wait until January when the "new" one is supposed to come out. They may lower the price on the 8G or you could be one of the first to get the 16G! Lucky you!

I have an iPhone and I want to put music on it but it wont work. I installed the latest version of itunes and when I plug in my iphone to the computer it says Camera connected- Select the program to launch for this action. I am using the same wire that I use to get music for my ipod. Why doesnt it let me get music!! Also can I get music online from my iPhone and then it will work on my iPhone? Please help! The iPhone will only work and sync with the computer if you sync it with iTunes|||If it says that it is only a camera that was connected maybe you haven't installed itunes correctly. Or maybe thought you were instaling and didn't save it? Anywho, My iphone does that when i connect it to a computer which isn't my main pc i use to download my music. Try sticking to ONE computer only. Or go to the computer you first connected it to.

I don't think it's a good idea. You can get GPS systems fairly cheap now a days. The problem with the iPhone GPS is that it is not turn by turn directions with voice. It does not re-route you if you miss a turn. It is as if you were following directions printed out from mapquest.com. With an actual GPS, it will tell when to turn, if you miss a turn and now they will re-route you to a quicker route if there is heavy traffic. The iphone simply shows instructions and that's it. You could go down the wrong road for miles before you relize your not on the right road. Where as an actual GPS won't let that happen.

What I can tell you from experience is that the glass is most definitely stronger. I keep my iPhone 4 in a case (as should you), but I have dropped it on occasion with and without the case. I have yet to drop it on an extremely hard surface like a parking lot or hardwood floor, just mainly at work or at my apartment where it's carpeted. It has yet to even crack. I've had it about six months.





It's a beautiful phone.|||The screen on the iPhone 4 is either stronger than the older 3G and 3GS or it is fitted in a way that makes it less prone to shattering.





I have friends that have cracked a lot of screens on their iPhone, yet I have never had an issue - simply because I don't drop it. I'm probably just lucky though...





If you are concerned then get a case. Or treat it like the expensive bit of kit it is and try not to lob it around!

i would use a torrent site to download the ipa's save the ip'as of eatch app u want that u find cracked on the internet at thepiratebay.com ininova.com or whatever youtube for torrent site or google iphone torrent apps or whatever the wording may need to be i personally keep 9 gigs of ipa's tomtom ipa's all kinds of crap all i do is double click they auto go into itunes i make sure i have the source added in for sinfuliphone repo update grab the 3.1.2 appsync install it reboot sync with itunes all my cracked stuff

I got an iphone from my brother-in-law and i wanted to know if i could buy service for it online. Its an iPhone original.|||I will try to explain based on some assumptions about your problem:


1. If you do not use ATT you will need to unlock your phone.


2. If you use ATT and you got your iPhone from someone else you need to bring it to ATT for activation, i.e they will give you new SIM card and then you will activate your phone at home using iTunes.


if you do not want to do it, you can jailbreak your phone and activation will not be required.

How do I get my iPhone out of Recovery mode?

My sister's iPhone is stuck in Recovery mode. She plugged it into her computer and it started to update software. How to transfer apps from iphone 4 to iphone 4s?

the iPad 2 and the iPhone 4s use the A5 chip, apparently this is the hardest one to jailbreak... it will take a while to figure it out... but i haven't found a working jailbreak for the iPad 2 yet, even though it has been out for so long...





especially now with ios5, (which comes pre-installed on the 4s) i don't think you can jailbreak it...





but yes, you should be able to sync with iTunes... just tell it not to upgrade to the latest version of IOS. this WILL undo your jailbreak... otherwise, you're fine to. - i had a jailbroken 3G... and i synced it all the time...
